Sandy

This is Sandy: nosy, interfering, bossy, piggy, demanding, entertaining, dogperson. She likes to be in the middle of everything that happens and she likes supervising events too. I am not allowed to cook without her input and if food preparation involves carrots or apples, even better. Rain, hail or shine, she likes the back door left open so that she can sit on the step and watch for her friend Gingercat, and chase off Blackcat. Awake or asleep her tail wags constantly, I have never had such a happy, waggy dog. Even when she is too lazy to get up she wags every time anyone passes her.

Sandy loves stairs so when we moved to this 2 storey house she was delirious, running up and down the stairs is one of her favourite pastimes. D1 thinks if we left the front door open Sandy would gallop down the stairs, skid across the hall, down the path and only stop when she hit the front gate.

Sandy likes to check on the Spudnikk but stay out of the way of sticky little fingers. However, clearing up food the Spidnikk drops is always a pleasure.

Everyone loves their dog, I know.

Yesterday Sandy was not well and when she avoided the stairs I realised it was serious. This morning her wag had completely disappeared so a visit to the vet was in order. Sandy is spending tonight in the vet's but is recovering,  despite them not knowing what was wrong.

The house is so silent and empty. No paws thundering up the stairs, no thud of the waggy tail on the floor, no chasing dream rabbits, I even got to have my supper without being told that I was selfish not to share. It is very strange being alone.

I will be very glad to have Sandy Dogperson home tomorrow.
