Grass Cutting
Today I cut 4 lawns... correction; 1 lawn, 1 mossy swamp, 1 small jungle and 1 swathe of dandelions/ docks/ nettles. First two areas belong to a house I help mind, last two areas are mine. I am gradually reclaiming the jungles which came with my house: some days I think that yes! I can do this, other days I am googling local garden services.
During lockdown (March to May-ish) the weather was dry and sunny but farmers complained there was no growing and the first cut of silage was into July I think. Since then it has rained and rained, been very warm and muggy, some sunny or dry days, and oh! you should see how much plants have grown! Especially weeds, why do the weeds always flourish?
I have had trouble deciding what to do with my front garden. If you don't count the path area, it is 9' × 12', which is big enough to look dreadful, but too small to do much with. For now the grass is cut and perhaps the crazy assortment of plants along the wall will inspire me. The celery was 8 foot tall and gone to seed... so I suppose the soil must be reasonable. It was taller than the forsythia!
